A good leader

There are some people who can never be a leader. Even he become a leader coincidently, he will be a lousy leader. May be he is a good leader in the eyes of his staffs (to certain extent only)and he is a good leader in the eyes of his boss (to certain extend too), he is a good leader only when everything go on smoothly!

This leader can go to karaoke, barbecue with the staffs like friends. He will help the staffs to cover up all the mistake that the staffs made, he will approve the leave for all the staffs under his responsibility, he will answer his staffs phone call after office hour to help her writing an official email.

Hey, why am I saying that he is not a good leader? He should be a perfect leader?! Of course not! He will never be a good leader.

Ya, many leaders go to karaoke, barbecue with the staffs like friends but will their girl friend being asked by the staffs to sing and being "scold" because can't sing well? Will the staffs ask the leader to prepare for food during barbecue? okok, there might be some really close team will do so.

Show me one leader who will allow the staffs to do careless mistake client's place and help them to cover up? Ya, you help the staffs to cover up without punishment to them, so they take it for granted and made the same mistake again. This time the client get crazy and shout at the stupid leader. Ended up, the leader ruined his own reputation and need to fire the staff because the client do not want the staff in his place anymore.

The leader approved the leave for all the staffs under his responsibility. Ended up, when there is a rejection, the staffs get very angry and question him "why every time can approve but this time can not?", " why you approve the leave for her but not me?", "you can cover for me, so I want to on leave!".

The leader answer his staffs phone call after office hour to help her writing an official email. "Boss, I don't know how to write the email, it's so hard." " Let me teach you, you type everything that I read to you now." In the other way, it's like this: "Boss, I'm hungry, I don't know how to cook." "No worries, let me cook for you, now you open your mouth, I feed you."

What if the staff just type the email exactly like what the leader read and didn't do any second checking before send out, then there are mistakes in the email. What do you think will happen? The staff will tell everyone, I called the leader, he is the one ask me to write like this, so it's not my fault. May be there is no mistake in the email but next time, same situation and the staff will call the leader again to teach her how to write the same email.

Do you still think this is a good leader? Ya, he is a good leader to his staffs, right? He is a good leader to the boss too, because all the staffs like him. Ya, because he can be scolded not only by bosses but staffs, he is just a doggy that everyone need in the company so that they got someone to blame on when anything happen, he has no respect from anyone when bad things happened. One day, when the boss finally feel that they do not need this dog anymore, this so call leader will be dump to the roadside....
